Exceptional Contribution to the Fashion Design Program
Dear Alanah Jones;
I want to take the time to acknowledge the many contributions you have made to the Fashion Design program
While you were a student in the program it was always apparent to faculty and students that you were available to anyone who needed help.
Since your completion of the program the department has benefitted from your ongoing support. Due to your efforts helping students prepare for their graduate fashion show and voluntarily doing many of the show's tasks, you have helped us maintain the professional standards of this event. As you know, the show is attended by over 1,000 people each year. The attendees range from students, parents, industry professionals, donors and media.
I know that adding these tasks to your regular duties took extra time and effort on your part. It means a great deal to us to have a graduate who is willing to take on additional work to help our team make sure our high standards are maintained. You do it all with great enthusiasm and it appreciated by students, staff, and faculty alike. I am glad you choose our program and you can count on me if you ever need a reference.
“I believe in design that serves a purpose beyond aesthetics. My work is rooted in the philosophy of simplicity, technical precision, and adaptability, creating pieces that integrate effortlessly into real-world environments.”
Over the past 10 years I have been working domestically in Canada and Overseas in product development building close relationships with fabric mills, factories that specialize in; garment, shoes, bags and accessories within Canada, US, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Turkey, Italy and Portugal.
Using my experience in the field of design and development I have found my strength in communication as a conduit of information between the back end creative, technical, production to the front end execution at the retail level.
My strength of having both the backend technical product design experience and front end execution allows me to fully understand the steps required through the entire end to end process of apparel manufacturing.
In my current role I have been able to put in place process flows, tools and system solutions to support the linking of the creative processes into all required cross-functional departments to ensure all deliverables are on time, within budget and that any risks or changes are communicated and solutioned efficiently and effectively.
